PANH Holds Annual Meeting, Award Paralegal, Attorney of the Year
The Paralegal Association of New Hampshire (PANH) met recently at the Public Service of New Hampshire facility in Manchester for its 24th annual meeting. The event capped the week, which Gov. John Lynch last year proclaimed, Paralegal Week in New Hampshire.
The organization discussed the issues, challenges, and goals of paralegals in the state, including: continuing legal education; regulation of paralegals to ensure quality; increased cooperation with the NH Bar Association. The group also agreed to elect new officers. April Merchant was re-elected president of the association and the selection of other officers was tabled until nominations could be submitted.
Awards from the PANH were given to their chosen Attorney of the Year and Paralegal of the Year. The PANH awarded Paralegal of the Year to Stacey Peters Boeckel, with the Manchester firm Walker & Buchholz. The Attorney of the Year award was given to Robert J. Bartis of Bernstein, Bartis & Mello in Nashua.
Editor’s Note: The New Hampshire Bar Association will be giving their own Paralegal of the Year award at the NHBA Midyear meeting in February 2008. (See page 11 for further information regarding this award.)
