Guardian ad litem Educational Meeting

for a Guardian ad litem educational meeting at:

Mental Health Issues and Parenting: an overview of common mental health disorders, the potential impact of the disorders when a parent is symptomatic, the role of stigma and suggested strategies and techniques to engage the individual with the illness. Claudia Ferber, Director of Child and Family Programs for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, New Hampshire.
Assessment of Parents with Mental Illness: an overview of the prevalence of parents with mental illness, effects on children, advance directives and parental authorizations, evaluating risks and protective factors, and conducting dialogues with families. Susan Stearns, Director of Development at Community Council of Nashua (Nashua’s community mental health center).
