Nashua Wins 'We the People'
NASHUA HIGH SCHOOL emerged as the state champions of this year’s We the People...The Citizen and the Constitution competition. The final round of competition was held Jan. 18 at the Legislative Office Building in Concord. Nashua High is now eligible to compete at the national We the People championship in Washington, D.C., this spring.
Nashua High went up against teams from Gorham Middle High School and Plymouth Regional and Milford High Schools in the state championship round. Preliminary rounds were held in December.
We the People, sponsored by the New Hampshire Bar Association, is in its 15th year in New Hampshire. The Law-Related Education program of the Bar organizes the competition.
In the competition, students, working as a team, make presentations that explore, explain and apply principles of the U.S. Constitution to modern-day situations.
