Bar News - May 23, 2008 In Memoriam: Marcia Leighninger
Derry attorney Marcia Leighninger passed away recently at the age of 60 after a long battle with cancer. Leighninger graduated from Franklin Pierce Law School and was admitted to the New Hampshire bar in 1988. She also once served on the NHBA Board of Governors. She worked as a prosecutor for both the Salem Police Department and the NH Department of Safety. In 2003 she was hired as the town manager for Salem, NH. Most recently, she kept a law office in Derry and was a certified as Guardian ad Litem with state’s court system. She was a longtime supporter of the Salem Animal Rescue League.Former Salem Selectman Stephanie Micklon remembered her as a close friend who battled her disease courageously. "She was a brilliant attorney with a sharp mind and a good soul," Micklon said.
