Brochure Offers Warnings on Safety Issues in Family Law Mediation

A new brochure, funded by the NH Bar Foundation and issued by the NH Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence, addresses potential dangers involved when using mediation in divorce cases where violence has been an issue.

The brochure questions whether mandatory mediation is suitable to domestic violence cases where power imbalance and safety issues factor heavily in the case, but also cites that mediation can be an empowering experience for those that are breaking away from a violent past.

For a copy of the brochure or for more information call the Coalition office at 603-224-8893, or visit www.nhcadsv.org.
