Electronic Transcripts on the Way

New rules on obtaining transcripts of state court proceedings that will require their distribution in PDF format take effect Sept. 1. The new format will no longer require the preparation of indexes since the electronic documents will be searchable. These rules are being adopted on a temporary basis and can be viewed in a 20-page PDF order.

On July 23, the NH Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules also recommended adoption of numerous rules, and solicits public comment by Oct. 15.

The 80-page document includes a comprehensive revision of rules governing Guardians ad litem; media access to cover disciplinary proceedings of the Attorney Discipline system and the Judicial Conduct Committee; a Superior Court rule requiring those submitting videotape depositions as evidence to provide a transcript of the entire deposition; and other subjects.
