Thomas J. Thomas, Jr.
Thomas J. Thomas, Jr., 53, died recently at his home in Bedford. He was the managing attorney at the Thomas Legal Group in Manchester.
Born and raised in Spokane, Washington, Thomas moved to Manchester in 1971 and had lived in the area since his death. He was a 1978 graduate of Plymouth State College and later attended the Franklin Pierce Law Center, earning his law degree in 1982.
While in law school, he interned for the US Attorney’s Office in Concord and after graduation worked for, and then became a partner of, Thomas, Utel, Vanderwater & Raiche in Manchester. He later worked at the Thomas & Pellenz law firm in Manchester until founding his own firm Thomas & Associates.
Thomas was involved with the National Homeland Security Department delegation between the United States and Russia, attending many conferences in Washington, D.C. and Russia.
He is survived by: his parents, Thomas J. and Betty Thomas; son Thomas J. Thomas, III; three daughters, Lynn, Jennifer and Kelly; five grandchildren; and two brothers.
Wayne B. Hersher
Wayne B. Hersher, 51, of Bedford died recently in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he had been caring for his father.
Born and raised in the Bridgeport area, Hersher attended Brandeis University, graduating in 1979, and then the Pierce Law Center, where he earned his law degree in 1982.
Hersher practiced law in Merrimack as managing attorney at the Hersher Professional Association.
"[Wayne] was an excellent lawyer, an even better human being, and quietly did more pro bono work than anyone else I know," said longtime friend John Garvey from the Franklin Pierce Law Center. Hersher is survived by his wife, Anne (Licciardello) Hersher; son, Michael; and two daughters Rebecca and Monica.
