Face to Face: Bar Reviving Pictorial Member Directory
In response to popular demand, the NH Bar Association will publish a pictorial member directory by January 2010, providing members with easy reference to members’ photos and contact information. The website member directory will continue to provide the most up-to-date member contact information.
In addition to the alphabetical member listings for active status members, the print directory will include a cross-reference list of Bar members by office location, a list of useful judicial and government resources, and a guide to NHBA member services and benefits.
The directory, a softcover paperback, will be distributed free to all active members of the Bar. The Bar Association last issued a pictorial directory in print form in 1999-2000, published by a private company in partnership with the Bar. Shortly after that contract expired, the Bar’s member directory was launched on the web, with photos included. However, over the years, many members have expressed interest in a print version of the directory.
The new directory is being developed by the Bar Association, with the expenses of distribution and printing to be paid by advertising revenue. Directory advertising is being handled by Bar News Advertising & Production Coordinator Donna Parker, who has already initiated marketing efforts with existing Bar News and www.nhbar.org advertisers, as well as potential new vendors with an interest in doing business with the legal marketplace. The directory is intended to be a member-to-member resource rather than a directory for consumers.
In addition to active member listings provided at no charge, attorneys can pay for law firm listings containing more information about their firm, including the ability to be listed in "Areas of Practice" categories.
