John Kacavas Nominated for US Attorney
John P. Kacavas | John P. Kacavas, a partner at Kacavas, Ramsdell & Howard in Manchester, was recently nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as the US Attorney for New Hampshire.
Kacavas currently practices federal and state criminal defense and civil trial work. Prior to co-founding his current firm, Kacavas was a prosecutor in the NH Attorney General’s Homicide Unit. In 1998, Kacavas was promoted to senior assistant attorney general and was appointed chief of the homicide unit.
A graduate of St. Michael’s College, American University and Boston College Law School, Kacavas joined the NH Bar in 1990. He was also the first recipient of the NH Bar Foundation’s Robert E. Kirby Award in 1996.
"This group of men and women have distinguished themselves as fair, tenacious and respected attorneys throughout their careers in both public and private service," President Obama said of his US Attorney nominations. "They will serve their country with distinction as US Attorneys and it is my honor to nominate them for these esteemed positions."
Kacavas, along with the other US Attorney nominees, is awaiting confirmation.
