Justice Souter for Civic Education

In a speech at the Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association, recently retired US Supreme Court Justice David Souter told his audience that the American public is lacking in a basic knowledge of how the government works. He urged members to "do something to improve civic education in the United States."
Souter, who is co-chair of the We the People National Advisory Committee, is also a panel member of the Civics Task Force of the NH Supreme Court Society (see page 28).
