L. Jonathan Ross to Serve on ABA Bar Activities & Services Committee
L. Jonathan Ross | L. Jonathan Ross has been asked to serve on the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Bar Activities and Services by incoming ABA President Carolyn Lamm. The committee’s key role is to maintain the ABA’s partnership and support of state, local, and specialty bar associations and related organizations. In addition to overseeing operations for the Division for Bar Services, the committee also sponsors the annual Bar Leadership Institute in Chicago, participates at bar association regional conferences, and co-sponsors the ABA Partnership Awards.
Ross does not have a specific assignment yet but will probably represent the committee at New England state bar meetings, the New England Bar Association (NEBA) annual meeting and will act as a resource for any state bar having an assistance request.
He currently serves as chair of the Nomination & Impact Resolutions Committee and expects to continue in that position in the next ABA year. He also serves on the Standing Committee on Membership, which he expects to continue for the next three years.
Other NHBA members active in ABA leadership are Stephen Tober, Russell Hilliard and Jaye Rancourt. Tober is on the ABA Board of Governors and is a member of its Operations Committee. Hilliard is the NHBA delegate to the ABA House of Delegates. Jaye Rancourt is on the Young Lawyers Division Executive Council.
