In Memoriam: Janet “Lee” Bezanson
Janet "Lee" Bezanson, of Meredith, died recently. She was 66.
An attorney and a professional psychiatric nurse, Bezanson was very active in the human services field. After earning her law degree from the University of Connecticut, she worked as an assistant attorney general for the state of Connecticut and as a member of the ethics committee for the federal practice bar in Connecticut.
In New Hampshire, Bezanson worked as legal coordinator for the state of New Hampshire Division of Human Services, as a former Medicaid director for the state of New Hampshire, and as the National Project Director for the HCBS Resource Network.
Bezanson served on many boards as well: as chair of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Long-Term Care Technical Advisory Group, as a member of the board of Granite State Independent Living and she was a founding member of the New England States Consortium Systems Organization (NESCSO).
She is survived by her husband, Gordon; sisters, Gail and Pamela; and many nieces and nephews.
