Geoffrey J. Vitt, of Vitt & Rattigan in Hanover, has been named co-chair of the Pro Bono and Public Interest Committee of the Section of Litigation of the ABA, effective September 1, 2009. The Committee assists lawyers in handling pro bono cases and the Committee members handle certain types of pro bono cases.

George Bruno, former ambassador to Belize, was recently awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from New England College at the institution’s 63rd opening convocation. Bruno was recognized for "creating substantive change on a global scale."
