Gender Equality Breakfast Speaker Previews Decade Update to Survey
Dennis Delay, a NH economist and research consultant to NH Center for Policy Studies, will be the featured speaker at the 2010 Gender Equality Breakfast on Friday, February 12 at the Center of NH Radisson Hotel.
At the request of the NHBA Gender Equality Committee, Delay is analyzing data from the Gender Equality Survey circulated this fall, and will be presenting a summary of its key findings. Delay likely may comment on how NH’s findings compare to trends noted in other recent surveys on the status of women in the legal profession. His report, as well as commentary and related articles, will form the theme for an upcoming issue of the NH Bar Journal. Delay has worked with the NH Bar on previous occasions, analyzing surveys on member services and speaking about the direction of the NH economy as it relates to the legal profession. He currently is Deputy Director of the NH Center for Policy Studies in Concord.
The breakfast also will feature the presentation of the 7th NHBA Gender Equality Committee’s Philip S. Hollman Award, recognizing dedication to promoting respect and fair treatment for all members of the justice system.
The award was established on the occasion of Judge Hollman’s retirement from the Superior Court in 2003. Judge Hollman was an original member of the Task Force on Women in the Bar in 1988 and has been a member of the Committee since that time.
