Judge Walter Murphy Chairs Death Penalty Study Group
 Walter L. Murphy | Retired Superior Court Chief Justice Walter L. Murphy has been named chair of a 22-member legislative commission to study the Death Penalty in NH.
The commission has begun monthly meetings and will be holding public hearings to gather information regarding its charge which includes whether the current Capital Murder Statute should be expanded, refined or eliminated, in whole or in part. The commission is to submit its report, including any proposed legislation, by December 1, 2010.
