Master Deborah K. Rein Will Receive Ricker Award
The New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association (NHWBA) will present the 2010 Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award to Marital Master Deborah Kane Rein to honor her distinguished career and outstanding achievement in the legal profession on behalf of women.
Master Rein, in addition to adjudicating thousands of cases as a marital master, serves on the Executive Committee of the NH Access to Justice Commission as the chair of the subcommittee on family law, has actively participated in the NH Supreme Court Rule of Law Program which partners with members of the legal community in Vologda, Russia, and has been an active supporter of the NH Pro Bono Referral Program and domestic violence prevention initiatives.
Named in honor of Marilla M. Ricker, the first woman to apply for admission to the New Hampshire Bar, the award honors outstanding women lawyers in New Hampshire who have achieved professional excellence, who have paved the way to success for other women lawyers, and advanced opportunities for women in the profession.
The award will be presented at the NHWBA Annual Fall Reception on Thursday, October 28, at the Centennial Inn in Concord, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The 2010 Winnifred McLaughlin Scholarship Award will also be presented at the Annual Fall Reception.
Any questions regarding the Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award, the Winnifred McLaughlin Scholarship Award or the Annual Fall Reception should be addressed to Holly B. Haines, New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association President.
