Bar Foundation News: John Maher to Serve as NHBF Development Director
John R. Maher | John R. Maher, the retired Administrative Judge of the Probate Courts and a longtime NH Bar Foundation supporter, has joined the Bar Foundation on a part-time basis as director of development.
Maher said he will be concentrating on reaching out to lawyers and their friends about the work and the potential of the Bar Foundation. Maher said he is looking forward to speaking personally with existing donors to named Foundation Funds and to other supporters and friends of the Foundation in the legal community about the Bar Foundation’s mission to support programs that promote the value of lawyers and the law, honor the history of the legal profession in New Hampshire, and educate students and the public about the justice system.
He intends to highlight some of the privately-supported Justice Funds created through the Foundation that encourage innovation in the delivery of legal services by identifying and supporting small projects focusing on civics education or legal services initiatives.
Maher said he was encouraged to think about becoming more involved with the Bar Foundation by Judge Philip Hollman, the current NHBF Chair, last year and then again this summer.
For more information, contact John Maher or Jeannine McCoy, NHBA Executive Director, who is managing the Bar Foundation on an interim basis.
