In Memoriam: Diane McCormack Seagren
A Massachusetts native, Diane McCormack Seagren died earlier this year at the age of 68.
She attended Skidmore College for three years before transferring to the University of New Hampshire, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree. She later earned her Master’s Degree from UNH as well. She returned to school and earned her law degree from the New England School of Law in 1989.
After her graduation, she practiced as a partner at the Portsmouth firm of Zelin & McCormack.
Active in the community, she served on the board of directors and as treasurer of the YWCA and served on the board of trustees of Great Bay Services. She was also a member of the Seacoast Foundation for Health and was on the board of directors of Friends Forever and Sustainable Harvest International.
An accomplished sailor, she raced and cruised sailboats, spending weeks each summer with her husband aboard their boat. She was a past Commodore of the Kittery Point Yacht Club and served on the board of the Portsmouth Yacht Club. She was also a member of the Blue Water Sailing Club and the Cruising Club of America.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; children, John, Karen and Kristen; daughter-in-law, Wendy; and grandchild Natalie.
