Law Related Education: NH Bar Foundation, Upton Law Firm Donate to We the People Team
John Stark Regional High School earned the right to participate in the nationals, but then the students had to face the challenge of getting there - such as raising the money to pay for the trip. Once again, the NH Bar Foundation stepped in to give the fundraising a jump start with a $1,000 donation.
The donation was presented to the students after a school board meeting at John Stark Regional High School, where students were presented with individual certificates of appreciation by the board. NHBA President Marilyn McNamara broke the happy news (See above photo).
"We’re all very proud of you for all the hard work you did this year preparing for this competition. You all did a great job," McNamara said. "That’s why the NH Bar Foundation this year voted to present to this group $1,000 to help you get down to Washington to represent New Hampshire."
McNamara’s law firm, Upton & Hatfield, also chipped in an additional $250 as a match to funds raised by the students.
