Ayotte, Edwards Promoted to Associate Attorneys General
Kelly Ayotte and Anne Edwards, who had served as senior assistant attorneys general since 2000, have been promoted to associate attorneys general. Gov. Jeanne Shaheen and the Executive Council approved their promotions on April 17.
Edwards works in the Civil Law Bureau, where she has been lead counsel in the Claremont school funding litigation.
Ayotte has been chief of the homicide unit for the past two years and last month successfully completed the prosecution of Vermont teenagers Robert Tulloch and James Parker, who both pleaded guilty to the murders of Dartmouth College professors Half and Susanne Zantop. In her new post, Ayotte will continue to prosecute homicides and manage the office’s five other homicide prosecutors.
