NH Supreme Court Posts Rules on Web Site
THE NH SUPREME Court has taken a big step toward "user-friendliness" by posting its rules, including the Rules of Professional Conduct, on its Web site.
The rules can be found at http://webster.state.nh.us/courts/rules/.
The court issued a disclaimer, however, indicating that the rules as published on the Internet are "not an official publication of the court rules."
"Although efforts have been made to ensure accuracy, errors may appear in the rules on this Web site as a result of the limitations of format conversion tools, HTML itself or human error. Please report any errors or broken links to the clerk’s office of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, 1 Noble Drive, Concord, NH 03301 or send an e-mail to FeedbackRules@courts.state.nh.us."
The rules were posted in early May and court officials welcome comments on any problems or suggestions regarding formatting.
The court thanked Matthew Bender & Company, Inc., a member of the Lexis-Nexis Group and the official publisher of the rules, for its assistance with the project.
Appearing on the Web site are:
- Rules of the NH Supreme Court
- Rules of the NH Superior Court
- NH Superior Court administrative rules
- Rules of the NH district and municipal courts
- Rules of practice and procedure in the NH probate courts
- Rules of evidence
- NH Rules of Professional Conduct
The Web site also includes a number of other resources, including a model jury charge in a criminal case regarding "presumption of innocence" and "reasonable doubt;" guidelines and applications for guardians ad litem; guidelines for abuse and neglect cases; and a general policy for public access to court records.
