| Last month, NHBA President Jennifer Parent moderated an hour-long webcast that answered Bar members’ questions about the Circuit Court. | The Circuit Court, after a rapid, sometimes hectic implementation, has had a relatively problem-free rollout this summer, say Circuit Court Administrative Judge Edwin Kelly and Deputy Administrative Judge David King.
The two judges addressed practical issues about the new court in a July 14 webcast. More than 130 Bar members tuned in live, and dozens later viewed the archived version. The program, moderated by NHBA President Jennifer Parent, is available for free viewing in the online CLE area of the Association website.
Judge Kelly stressed that the organizational changes to the Circuit Court do not affect the substance of practice in the probate, district and family courts. Asked about the impact on existing cases, he said: "Attorneys and court users won’t see a lot of difference from the outside looking in," adding that the same judges will hear the cases, and in the same locations, as no court sites were closed.
Please see page 36 for answers from judges Kelly and King, with new information provided last week.
