Bar News - September 16, 2011 In Memoriam: Edward Franklin "Smitty" Smith Edward Smith passed away recently in his home at the age of 86. Smitty, as he was lovingly called, attended schools in Dorchester, MA. Upon his high school graduation in 1942 he joined the US Marines and received numerous ribbons, medals and awards for his service. He received his BA in Business Administration from Suffolk University, then his JD from Northeastern University in 1953. For the last 30 years of his career, Smith was general counsel at Employment Security in Concord. He is survived by six daughters; Sandy, Emilie, Robin, Smith Lil and Pauline; along with three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In honor of our colleague Edward Franklin Smith, the NH Bar Association Board of Governors has made a donation to the NH Bar Foundation, 2 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301. |
