Judge John Arnold Retires
Superior Court Judge John P. Arnold, the presiding judge in Cheshire County, is retiring in November after 18 years on the bench.
Judge Arnold was nominated to the court in November 1992 by then Gov. Judd Gregg and began his service on the court in January 1993. Before he came on the bench, Judge Arnold served for four years as NH Attorney General. Arnold was admitted to the Bar in 1973. Arnold is 64 years old.
Superior Court Judge Philip Mangones, who took senior status two years ago,, will sit at Cheshire County Superior Court.
With Arnold’s retirement, the Superior Court will have 17 full-time judges. Judge William Delker recently joined the bench.
Judges who continue to assist as senior active judges, such as Mangones, include judges Bruce E. Mohl, David B. Sullivan, Peter H. Fauver, Edward J. Fitzgerald, III, Kathleen A. McGuire, James J. Barry, and William J. Groff.
