In Memoriam: Joseph M. Alden


Joseph M. Alden
Joseph M. Alden from Boston passed away earlier this year in London, UK, at the age of 35 after a long illness.

Born in Newport, RI, Alden graduated magna cum laude in History from Boston College in 1996 and received his JD from Boston College Law School in 1999.

In his legal career, he worked as the legislative counsel for the Maryland General Assembly and as an associate attorney for several Maryland firms before making his move to Boston in 2005 where he worked for Melick, Porter, & Shea. He later worked at the Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance.

Alden leaves behind his parents; his sister, Lisa; and maternal grandmother, Ruth Medvetz.

In honor of our colleague Joseph M. Alden, the NH Bar Association Board of Governors has made a donation to the NH Bar Foundation, 2 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.
