Bar News - December 16, 2011 In Memoriam: Joan Sullivan Bucklin Joan Sullivan Bucklin of New London passed away recently at the age of 83. She was born and raised in Boston and attended Boston University. She graduated from Boston University Law School in 1950 and worked for Nutter, McClennen & Fish. In 1971, she moved with her family to New London. After raising her family, she passed the NH Bar Exam in 1980. She practiced law in New London for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1999. She volunteered her legal services to help establish a hospice program at Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association. Joan was a member of organizations such as the New London Garden Club, League of Women Voters, New London Zoning Board and New London Bar Association. Joan leaves behind her four daughters, Susan Cox, Betsy Reddy, Katherine Stearns, a NH Bar member, and Amy Bucklin; eight grandchildren and her brother, Edward Sullivan. |
