Bar News - May 18, 2012 Marital Masters Departing Decades of experience in marital matters are leaving the Family Division as marital masters’ terms expire. The legislature’s expectation is that the loss of martial masters’ experience will be offset by the efficiency gains of having the Circuit Court staffed with judges able to hear cases in multiple subject areas. At last count, there were 14 vacancies (7 full-time, 7 part-time) on the Circuit Court. By the end of the summer, three of the marital master vacancies are to be converted to judgeships.
