In Memoriam: Richard Keefe
Richard Keefe of Dover passed away last November at the age of 96.
As a graduate of University of New Hampshire and Boston University of Law, he passed the NH Bar Exam in 1939 and had been a member of the NH Bar Association for 72 years.
He started practicing law with his uncle, F. Clyde Keefe until he enlisted in the US Naval Reserves in 1942. After World War II, was appointed Assistant US Attorney, then clerk of the Superior Court in Strafford County; a position he held for 34 years. After his retirement, he practiced law for several years.
Keefe was treasurer of the Dover Gridiron Club and one of the original founders of the Dover Hall of Fame. In addition, he was a member of the UNH Board of Trustees, Dover Post American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dora and children, David and Dennis.
