Bar News - July 13, 2012 In Memoriam: Llowell A. Welnak Llowell A. Welnak passed away at the age of 84 after a period of declining health. He grew up in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Marquette University. He earned his JD from Marquette Law School in 1950. Over his lifetime he was licensed to practice law in five states and the District of Columbia. Welnak was vice president and general counsel for Peerless Insurance for sixteen years when he retired in 1988. He was active in the Keene Lions Club and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Keene YMCA, Board of Governors for Cheshire Medical Center and Trustee for the United Church of Christ in Keene. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Mary Welnak, his children Peter Welnak and Ann Harvey, along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. |
