In Memoriam: Gail A. Monet, Register of Probate
Gail A. Monet, 62, recently passed away after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Monet had served as Carroll County Register of Probate since Dec. 1, 1997.
She first worked in the NH legal community as a paralegal in the Carroll County Attorney’s office for the late William D. Paine II. While there she spearheaded the collection of child support payments and ran that office until Paine was appointed Judge of the Conway District Court. She then went to work at the law firm of Sager, Sager, Wunder & Dupree as a paralegal and credits Lorraine Sager for her development as a probate expert.
She touched many lives, helping families, children, parents and lawyers through the emotional and confusing journey of settling estates, and facilitating adoptions and guardianships.
Monet is survived by her mother, five brothers and two sisters, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends to make a donation to your personal favorite charity.
