Storm Is Howling. Is Court Open?
The NH Judicial Branch aims to keep courts open regardless of weather conditions, but in special circumstances, closures are posted on the "nhcourts" Twitter feed.
Laura Kiernan, spokeswoman for the judiciary, explained that power outages, such as those that recently accompanied Hurricane Sandy, can require court closures.
"Twitter was a great way to keep in touch and to keep informed about fast-moving events," Kiernan said. "We plan to continue to use Twitter whenever we need to get the word out fast about any unexpected changes in court schedules due to weather, power outages, plumbing problems, etc."
The court system Twitter feed can be found online at twitter.com/nhcourts.
