Condolences to Larry Vogelman
The NH Bar Association Board of Governors and staff join colleagues from New Hampshire and all around the country in expressing sincere condolences to NHBA President Larry Vogelman and his family. Larry’s eldest son, Jacob, was killed near his home in Brooklyn on Oct. 29 during Hurricane Sandy.
Jacob had ventured out during the storm to accompany his longtime friend, Jessie Streich-Kest, to check on her ailing father.
He was a stage and lighting designer, and was working on a master’s degree at Brooklyn College. Streich-Kest was a high school teacher and activist.
Jacob’s family has chosen a charity to which gifts may be made in Jake’s name. (Please make payments directly to the charity):
Learning Ally: Making Reading Accessible for All
This wonderful organization, formerly called Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, provided Jake with many, many free recorded books over the years, especially when he was a child, and truly made a big difference in his life.
Donate at www.learningally.org. If you donate online, when you get to "Step 2" in the process, please choose to make your donation a Memorial Gift in Jake’s name. Alternately, if you would like to mail in a donation, please send it to:
