Pro Bono Enjoys United Way Support
While the NHBA Pro Bono Referral Program’s main sources of funding are from the NH Bar Foundation IOLTA program and a number of federal grants and subgrants, it also relies on United Way support from the United Way campaigns serving Manchester, Salem/Derry, Merrimack County, the Upper Valley and Monadnock Region.
Last year, almost $37,000 was received from the Granite and Monadnock United Way campaigns in NH. (Due to scarce resources and the varying application requirements, it is not feasible for Pro Bono to apply for funding from every United Way in New Hampshire.)
In addition to IOLTA grants, Pro Bono receives funding from a variety of sources, including its own fundraising event, the Quid Pro Bono Golf Tournament, the Campaign for Legal Services, and grants for specific programs such as DOVE and the Low-Income Taxpayer Project.
