NHBA Leadership Academy Ramps Up for New Class Year
The NHBA Leadership Academy Class of 2012 is chosen. Stay tuned for an upcoming e-Bulletin where we’ll tell you more about this year’s Rising Leaders. In the meantime, see what this year’s class has planned.
Academy Retreat October 28 & 29, 2011 Mountain Club at Loon, Lincoln, NH This day-and-a-half retreat will feature national speaker Michael Brandwein, who will discuss leadership, leadership styles and essential leadership skills.
NH Business/Leadership Development November 10, 2011 Designed to inspire, educate, and motivate, the Business and Leadership Development module will teach business networking skills and feature life lessons from accomplished leaders in business and the community.
NH Judicial Branch December 9, 2011 Participants will hear directly from Judicial Branch leadership about issues facing the courts and the role of the court system in the 21st century.
Non-Profit Management January 12, 2012 (Snow Date: Jan. 24) A distinguished panel of non-profit leaders will explore legal and ethical responsibilities as well as the practicalities of non-profit organizations, including a review of New Hampshire statutes governing non-profits and applicable federal statutes.
Executive/Legislative Branches February 9, 2012 This module will focus on the workings of the executive and legislative branches of the state government, discussing roles, tensions, challenges and complexities involved in governmental operations.
NHBA Midyear Meeting - 2012 March 6-7, 2011 Radisson/Center of NH, Manchester Academy participants will present their plans for service projects at the NHBA-BOG Meeting followed by dinner with the Board of Governors and the Midyear Meeting Professional Speaker.
Media Relations and Public Speaking April 12, 2012 Media Relations and Public Speaking will provide an opportunity for participants to hear lawyers’ and journalists’ perspectives on relationships between lawyers and the press.
Future of the Practice of Law/ Access to Justice May 22, 2012 Future of Law: Panelists and participants will discuss the future of the practice of law, the trends in the business of law, the practice areas that will grow, and how technology will change lawyer interaction with the courts and clients.
Access to Justice: This portion of the module will identify and explore issues surrounding access to justice for all clients, with an emphasis on the special needs of low and moderate-income clients.
NHBA Annual Meeting June 22-24, 2012 Omni Mt Washington Resort, Bretton Woods, NH
The NHBA Leadership Academy caps the program year with a relaxing weekend in the White Mountains. Participants will discuss plans for the Class of 2013 and will take part in a "culminating experience."
