NHBA Leadership Academy Hosts Judicial Leaders
The NHBA Leadership Academy last month hosted three leading members of the New Hampshire judiciary at a program designed to teach the Class of 2012 about issues facing the NH Judicial Branch and about innovations coming down the road.
NH Supreme Court Associate Justice Carol Ann Conboy, Superior Court Chief Justice Tina Nadeau, and Circuit Court Deputy Administrative Judge David King, along with NH Judicial Council Executive Director Nina Gardner, in a panel discussion moderated by Hon. Paul Moore, spoke with members of the Academy. Topics covered included the new Circuit Court transition, budget challenges in the Superior Court, and the move toward e-filing with the NH e-Court Project.
Leadership Academy participants prepared for the module by "shadowing" a New Hampshire judge. During the shadowing process, participants spent a day with a member of the New Hampshire judiciary, interacting with the judges, the court staff and getting a taste of what it was like to be a judge in New Hampshire.
This month, the Class of 2012 will reconvene for a module which helps them understand what goes into running and serving on boards of non-profits.
