Leadership Academy: Announcing Class of 2013
A diverse group of attorneys, from large and small firms as well as solo practitioners, and coming from all corners of the state and even beyond the border, have been selected for the NHBA Leadership Academy, Class of 2013.
Entering its third year, the NHBA Leadership Academy is a yearlong program that aims to identify, inspire and train emerging leaders of the legal profession in New Hampshire. The Academy is open to NHBA members with 3-to-10 years’ legal experience.
As a prelude, members of the new class were to meet with alumni of the previous two Leadership Academy classes, steering committee members, and officers and board members of the NH Bar Association at an Oct. 12 reception at the Bar Center.
The program begins in earnest on Oct. 26-27 with a session all day Friday and Saturday morning, featuring Michael Brandwein, a lawyer and national speaker on organizational effectiveness and leadership. The participants will meet on a monthly basis for the next seven months, learning skills and receiving orientation to facets of community and professional life in New Hampshire. Working in groups, the participants will also work on a legal sector community service project.
This year’s program is overseen by a steering committee co-chaired by NHBA Past President Richard Uchida and Abigail Sykas, a graduate of the first Leadership Academy. Several members of the past two Leadership Academy classes are participating on the steering committee.
