Morning Mail: Some Parties Benefit From Delays
Who can disagree with the usual, well-articulated positions by Lee Nyquist in the New Hampshire Bar News, Jan. 18, 2013 ("New Hampshire Courts Are in Crisis")?
However, a word of caution and a reality check. In almost every case, someone on either side of the "versus" benefits from delay, inertia, and the turtle-like process that has resulted from our lack of judicial resources and funding. Not everyone is in a hurry for justice or for a day in court. I suspect silently there are both institutional parties, insurance companies, and others, for whom a "speedy" trial or resolution is anathema.
Sincerely yours,
Robert A. Stein
