Gender Equality Breakfast
Philip Hollman Gender Equality Award

Jaye Rancourt

The NHBA Gender Equality Committee will present Jaye Rancourt with the Philip Hollman Gender Equality Award at the Gender Equality Breakfast during the 2015 Midyear Meeting, Feb. 27, 2015.

In selecting Rancourt to receive its Philip Hollman Gender Equality Award, the Gender Equality Committee said Rancourt is a role model for women, a strong advocate for gender equality, and a leader by example.

In addition to leadership initiatives during 2013-14, when she served as president of the NH Bar Association, Rancourt led the development of "When Love Hurts," a curriculum aimed at preventing teen dating violence. Rancourt and several other lawyers helped launch the education program at schools across the state. She also served as co-chair of the NH Bar's Leadership Academy, which identifies and equips lawyers with skills to exercise leadership in the profession and in their communities.

Rancourt, a shareholder and director in the Brennan Lenehan firm in Manchester, primarily practices criminal defense and family law. After graduating from the University of Maine School of Law in 1999, she joined the NH Public Defender Program and worked there until 2003 when she joined the Brennan Lenehan firm. In addition to her service in the Bar Association, she has been active in the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division.

Guest Speaker

Lucy Hodder, recently appointed director of UNH Law's new health law and policy program and former legal counsel to Gov. Hassan, will be the featured speaker at the Gender Equality Breakfast.
