Every year, approximately 7.5 million Americans are victims of stalking and New Hampshire residents are not exempt from experiencing this dangerous crime. Many victims seek protection from perpetrators of stalking through the civil justice system, however, the majority do so without support of counsel. In fact, New Hampshire Circuit Court statistics show that of the over 2000 Stalking Petitions filed in 2017, only about 5% of petitioners had legal representation. The DOVE Project collaborates with area crisis centers to pair stalking victims with volunteer attorneys for representation at final protective order hearings. There will be numerous opportunities to receive training on DOVE Stalking representation throughout 2019, so be on the lookout and sign up for one of these exciting training seminars!

The DOVE Project’s stalking program is supported by Award No. 2015-VA-GX-0007 awarded by the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs and administered through the New Hampshire Department of Justice. In addition to VOCA, DOVE’s stalking program receives support through the New Hampshire Bar Foundation.

As of June 1, 2021, The DOVE Project transferred from the New Hampshire Bar Association to 603 Legal Aid. If you have questions or need assistance, please call Pam Dodge or Elyse McKay at 603-224-3333. The NHBA Pro Bono Referral System is also part of 603 Legal Aid.
