Summary: Client intake and attorney referral for NHBA’s Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) call center, as well as clerical and other tasks supporting the LRS Full-Fee and Modest Means programs. Approximately 75% of time is spent on phone receiving referral requests. Provides administrative support for Free Legal Answers-NH and LawLine programs.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

Direct Communication with People Seeking Referrals and Legal Assistance

  • Answer telephone calls from public; inputs caller information in LRS database; makes referrals to panel attorneys or other resources as appropriate
  • Retrieve and respond to voicemails
  • Review and respond in a timely and helpful manner to e-mails and mail

Direct Communication with Panelist Attorneys

  • Ensure that panelists have adequate liability insurance
  • Assist with LRS panelist renewal billing
  • Follow-up on deferred cases
  • Communicate feedback to panelist attorneys.

Collaboration with Other NHBA Staff

  • Attend department and company-wide meetings.

Miscellaneous Administrative Work

  • Filing/clerical/proofreading/scanning work as required
  • Assist with attorney disposition reports
  • Assist with attorney applications

Language Ability:

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Essential and Preferred Software Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office      , forums, and database software (must be able to learn and work with The Associate membership database).

Education/Experience:

HS Diploma/GED, associate degree preferred, and two to four years related experience and/or training preferred, but not necessary.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle is required
