Overview of Job:

Headquartered in Concord, NH, the New Hampshire Bar Association supports members of the legal profession and their service to the public and the justice system. Its MarComm department serves as an in-house creative agency and services a number of internal and external clients.

The Marketing and Design Coordinator is responsible for implementing day-to-day communications activities in support of the Association and its affiliates, including print and digital social media, marketing, advertising, promotions; internal and external communications and public relations; rudimentary video production; research; and database mining.

Due to the degree of collaboration required, only local candidates will be considered: minimum 50% onsite work currently required, with goal of returning to 100% onsite post-pandemic. For this reason and because this person’s presence will be required at live events in the future, a valid NH driver’s license and access to a reliable insured vehicle are also required.

Essential Responsibilities:

With guidance and oversight from the Director of Marketing, Communications and Member Outreach, and in conjunction with the MarComm team, the Marketing and Design Coordinator shall perform the following tasks, as may be revised from time to time:


  • Participate in meetings with clients and listen to their needs
  • Suggest and develop effective plans
  • Client support, management, and satisfaction
  • Support and work collaboratively with team members, NHBA staff, members, vendors, and others
  • Attend all required meetings (virtual and face-to-face)


  • Assist in the creation of compelling visual content
  • Create graphic designs that are aligned with brand standards and legal guidelines
  • Assist in the creation, management, and application of guideline documents such as style guides and brand book
  • Provide support for upcoming special events and projects
  • Work with freelancers and outside vendors as appropriate
  • Catalog all projects for easy referencing and repurposing


  • Help shape and elevate NHBA and affiliates existing brands, maintaining a clear, consistent, and professional personality for members and the public alike
  • Provide support for upcoming special events and projects (including attendance at onsite functions as appropriate)


  • Coordinate NHBA’s social media presence, developing ongoing themes and messages, as well as “one-off” posts
  • Create and distribute email newsletters, bulletin, and other online communications
  • Maintain and update e-mail lists
  • Track, interpret, and report marketing metrics
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology and suggest how NHBA may best utilize it


  • Draft ad copy and press releases
  • Develop and update press kit


  • Maintain marketing calendar
  • Traffic projects and ensure that all deadlines are met
  • Ensure accountability to internal and external clients and vendors by serving as liaison
  • Respond promptly to requests

plus other tasks as may be assigned at management team’s discretion.

Basic Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field


  • 1-3 years related professional work experience in a similar capacity
  • Demonstrable experience with leading social media platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (and corresponding scheduling software like Hootsuite)
  • Demonstrable proficiency with Adobe Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working understanding of WordPress
  • Experience with GoToMeeting, Zoom, and other video chat/videoconferencing technology
  • Experience working at a law firm or for legal clients is a plus


  • Ability to think creatively, problem solve, and bring innovative solutions to marketing challenges
  • Ability to simplify and clarify complex ideas
  • Imaginative and curious, with a strong eye for aesthetics and visual details
  • Attention to detail; outstanding proofreader
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in managing competing priorities, coordinating multiple, quick-turnaround projects, and working with tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and tact/diplomacy; ability to work with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to see other people’s points of view and constructively receive feedback
  • Knowing when to lead and when to follow
  • Asks for help when needed
