Academy members will meet at WMUR in Manchester to tour the station’s studio and get a feel for how NH’s television news is created.
2:00 – 2:30 PM Travel back to Bar Center
2:30 – 2:45 PM Break/networking
2:45 – 3:45 PM Part II – Media Relations from the Media’s perspective
The panel of media professionals will discuss the priorities and realities of working with the news media, the evolution of online news reporting channels, and how lawyers can work effectively with the media. Academy members will participate in the discussion and have an opportunity to ask questions.

4:00 – 5:00 PM Part III – Media Relations from the Lawyer’s perspective
The panel of lawyers will discuss likely and unlikely encounters with the media, provide advice on interacting with the media, including how to not provide information; and provide tips on what you can and cannot say to the media in the context of legal ethics and rules. Academy members will participate in the discussion and have an opportunity to ask questions.

Christopher Hawkins, Devine Millimet & Branch, will discuss ethical considerations and rules of professional conduct a lawyer must consider when speaking to the media about legal matters relative to clients and opposing parties
