Bar News - June 23, 2006

Did you know?

…that if you are experiencing depression, alcohol or drug dependence, or an overwhelming sense of not being at the right place in your life… Your Bar has resources for you.

The  Lawyers Assistance Committee of the NHBA offers free and confidential assistance for lawyers with substance abuse, mental health or other personal or professional problems. Call the Helpline at 603 224-6060. The hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; callers are connected with trained volunteers.

Another group, Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers, not affiliated with the NHBA, also offers free, confidential peer support, particularly for lawyers and judges with substance dependency problems. For more information about LCL, call John at (603) 436-8035.

Supreme Court Rule 42(9) requires all NH admitted attorneys to notify the Bar Association of any address change, home or office.
