NH Supreme Court Order

ADM-2006-0070

In the Matter of Jean E. Sokul

On May 5, 2006, this court issued an order requiring Jean E. Sokul to file her certificate of compliance with the minimum legal education requirements for the reporting year ending June 30, 2005, and to pay the late fees assessed, or be suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire.

Jean E. Sokul has neither responded to the show cause order, nor brought herself into compliance with Supreme Court Rule 53.7(A)(3).

Jean E. Sokul is hereby suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire.  This suspension is in addition to the suspension imposed on February 24, 2006, in ADM-2005-0033, for failure to file her certificate of compliance with the minimum legal education requirements for the reporting year ending June 30, 2004.

Broderick, C.J., and Dalianis, Duggan, Galway and Hicks, JJ., concurred.

ATTEST: Eileen Fox, Clerk

********

The Supreme Court of New Hampshire, pursuant to RSA 490:4, directs that proceedings in every State court in New Hampshire be suspended on Friday morning, March 9, 2007, to facilitate the participation of judges and lawyers in continuing judicial and legal education programs scheduled as part of Professionalism Day. Proceedings may not be suspended if the judge or master and the lawyers on a case do not plan to attend Professionalism Day programs, or if the judge or master, in his or her discretion, decides that efficient administration of the court or ensuring justice in a particular case compels that a case be scheduled for a hearing or trial, or that a hearing or trial continue to be litigated, on that day.
