Notes from a Messy Desk

Stupid Warnings

“Wacky Warning Label Contest,” sponsored by Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch:

3rd place (tie): “Do not iron” on a lottery ticket; and “Don’t try to dry your phone in a microwave oven” on a cell phone.

2nd place: “Never use a lit match or open flame to check fuel level” on a personal watercraft.

1st place: “Do not put any person in this washer” on a washing machine at a laundromat.

Over to the Other Side

A former Texas narcotics detective, Barry Cooper (800 arrests), is selling a video titled: “Never Get Busted Again,” that instructs drug users on how to conceal their stashes. And in December 2006, former New York City parking court judge Haskell Nussbaum published, “Beat That Parking Ticket.” He says that harried judges look for the slightest defect in a ticket to speed through crowded dockets. “Every ticket is worth fighting,” he told the New York Post.

Supreme Court Rule 42(9) requires all NH admitted attorneys to notify the Bar Association of any address change, home or office.
