Racing for a Reason
From left to right, Hon. Mark Weaver, special justice and attorney of Ford Weaver & McDonald in Portsmouth; Holly Weaver; Hon. Paul S. Moore, special justice and Nashua practitioner; Attorney Kent Barker of Winer & Bennett in Nashua, participated in the New England Handicap Sports Association’s 21st Annual Corporate Ski Challenge at the Mt. Sunapee Resort in Newbury on March 10, 2007. Teams of four skiers race against each other in a modified slalom to raise funds for NEHSA’s outreach programs.
The NH Bar Association had a strong showing at this event with over 50 percent of the participants being either NH Bar members or teams sponsored by members. The Legal Division produced the first-place team, the Younger Jordanaires from the Nashua law firm of Jordan, Maynard & Parodi, with a combined time of 64.99; and the second-place team, the Brown Bombers from the Manchester law firm of Abramson, Brown and Dugan, with a combined time of 65.94.
This is the sixth year that NHBA members have been major sponsors of this event, which has allowed NEHSA to sponsor camps for severely disabled children as well as provide recreational activities for disabled veterans. Attorneys Robert M. Parodi, of Jordan Maynard & Parodi, and Kenneth C. Brown, of Abramson Brown & Dugan in Manchester, were honorary chairs of this event and Hon. Paul Moore and Jean Finlay were event co-coordinators.
