Lt. Colonel Jonathan Sistare Shares Iraq Experience

“I’m getting the impression that the people who don’t want us are the typical 10 percent of any group that makes trouble and causes 90 percent of the problems. In this case, they have guns and bombs and a desire to kill us. And a willingness to die in that cause.”

            – Journal excerpt, Lt. Col. Jonathan Sistare; NH Union Leader

NH Bar Member and US Army Lt. Colonel, Jonathan Sistare, has been part of an embedded military force in central Iraq since last September in the United States’ effort to train Iraqi security forces. Throughout his time there he has kept a daily journal chronicling the various cultural differences as well as his day-to-day experience. He has submitted these journals to the New Hampshire Union Leader where they are published regularly. An archive of Sistare’s journals can be found at

Supreme Court Rule 42(9) requires all NH admitted attorneys to notify the Bar Association of any address change, home or office.
