On April 15, 2008, the Manchester Bar honored Superior Court Judge Kenneth R. McHugh by awarding him the Bar’s Annual Achievement Award at the Bedford Village Inn. The Award was presented by Judge McHugh’s life-long friend, Attorney Dick Moquin. The crowd of over 115 was treated to a "this is your life" presentation as Attorney Moquin shared stories about Judge McHugh as a young man right through to the present. Unfortunately for Dick Moquin, Judge McHugh had the last word. With laughter and some good-natured ribbing, Judge McHugh graciously accepted the Bar’s highest honor. New Hampshire Bar President Eleanor Dahar sent a congratulatory letter to Judge McHugh.
The Manchester Bar presents its Award of Achievement each year to a deserving person whose contributions to the law, the bench, the bar and the community stand out above the rest. Manchester Bar President, Jason Craven, stated, "There was no one more deserving than Ken McHugh for this Award. Judge McHugh is an example of what is right within our profession." Judge McHugh was appointed to the bench in 1986 and has been a member of the Manchester Bar since 1969.
Judge McHugh was joined at the event by Joanne, his wife of nearly 40 years, and by friends, colleagues, and over ten members of the Supreme Court, Superior Court and District Court.
The Manchester Bar will conclude its 2007-2008 year with its Annual Meeting, to be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Manchester Country Club. Cocktails begin at 5:30 with dinner to follow.
