Divorce Boot Camp Is Back!

NHBA President Marilyn McNamara shows the New Hampshire pro se divorce forms at the 2008 Divorce Boot Camp.
The NHBA Pro Bono Referral Program’s Divorce Boot Camp training will take place on Nov. 15 at the Bar Center, featuring faculty Cathy Shanelaris, of Shanelaris & Schirch in Nashua, and Pam Peterson, of Devine Millimet in Manchester.

Learn about the Pro Bono Program, how to deal with common pro bono issues and the benefits that come with service. The faculty will address topical issues all family law attorneys need to know, including: dealing with pro se litigants and the basics of unbundled representation. Here are three more reasons you should attend:

It’s a Steal!

This year, you can get the Divorce Boot Camp AND NHBA•CLE’s Basic Family Law Program for just $99*. You’ll even get NHMCLE credit for both programs!

Rule 6.1 Fulfillment

Rule 6.1 of the NH Rules of Professional Conduct encourage lawyers to "discharge the duty to render public interest legal service by, among other means, providing professional services at no fee or a reduced fee to persons of limited means." Taking a Pro Bono case is a great way to do that and to feel good about giving back to the community.

Trained Mentor Included

Divorce Boot Camp attendees have the opportunity to be matched with a seasoned family law attorney who practices in the same geographical area as you, so you know that you won’t have to face it alone.

*$99 price requires that registrants attend both the Basic Family Law CLE on Nov. 3, and the Divorce Boot Camp on Nov. 15, and that they agree to take ONE pro bono case on or before Nov. 15.

If you are in doubt about the status of any meeting, please call the Bar Center at 603-224-6942 before you head out.
