Giving Back: MooreMart: Care Packages Sent to Military Approach 35,000

A happy recipient of a MooreMart care package.
MooreMart, which packs and ships care packages to servicemen and women around the world, met in Nashua on Sat., Mar. 19 for its latest effort. According to the Hon. Paul Moore, who co-founded MooreMart in 2006 with his brother Brian and his sister Carol Moore Biggio, volunteers packed and shipped 1,517 packages to members of the NH National Guard, as well as servicemen and women from throughout New Hampshire.

Moore, who has been a NH Bar member since 1988, was honored at this latest event by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who presented him with a tribute from the Points of Light Foundation.

This latest shipment brought the total care packages shipped to 34,034. "Our next packing event is June 16, 17 and 18 at the Nashua National Guard Armory," said Moore.

To volunteer, contact Paul Moore.

Below are a few of the many notes sent to MooreMart by those who have received packages:

MooreMart volunteers Deborah and Thaddeus Luszey, United States Senator Jeanne Shaheen, MooreMart co-founders Paul and Brian Moore.

A member of the NH National Guard loads MooreMart boxes.
Our unit, HHB 197th Fires Brigade NH Army National Guard, is deployed to Kuwait (and elsewhere in Southwest Asia) in support of Operation New Dawn. Our battery just received a large shipment of packages from MooreMart. I must say that it was like Christmas, getting these boxes. You and your staff would be happy to know of all the smiles that receiving these packages brought to the soldiers here in the desert. They were all running around like little children, each asking what the other received and trading this candy bar for that box of M&Ms. The handwritten notes were touching. I received one from "Caroline."

Please thank all the folks that contribute to your fine organization in time, money, and prayers.

Being so far from home for so long is challenging for all of us. Itís nice to receive something from the folks at home.

Thank you for the time and effort you have taken to send the MooreMart care packages. The items in the package are great and will help me through the last two months I have left in Afghanistan before returning to the US. Again, thank you.

Sincerely,
Jordan Mastroianni

Several of your care packages were delivered to our passenger terminal here in Balad Iraq. Receiving them was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Thank you! Our job here is to arrange air transportation for and to process troops to various locations in theater. We ended up receiving more of your packages than troops who work here, so we gave the remainder to the soldiers heading onto various bases in Iraq.

Best Regards,
Matt

Greetings from Kuwait! Just a quick note to thank you for your efforts. We received care packages and are very grateful for all the good stuff. Please go to our unit Facebook site "Granite Thunder" and check us out. Thanks again!

Hello from Balad, Iraq. I just wanted to take a moment to send a thank you for your organizationís generosity. I was fortunate enough. . .to work with some Army folks (Iím an Air Force man), and they shared your generosity with me. It is very comforting to know that there are people and organizations like yours that keep the deployed troops in their thoughts. Sometimes just a little taste of home is what it takes to make someoneís day, week, or even month.
